Transformers: Rise of the Beasts (2023)
Director: Steven Caple Jr.
Company: MPC Visualization
Role: Sr. Postvis Artist
Time on project: March 2022 - April 2022
Visualization Supervisor: Patrick Smith
Rise of the Beasts was my first chance to work on the Transformers franchise, and it was an animator's dream. I was part of the huge team at MPC Visualization, and it was fun to be on such a large "army" of artists and work on something so massive.
My biggest "beast" of a visualization challenge during postvis was a long drone shot following Bumblebee and Noah storming with the Maximals through a massive field full of Terrorcons, as asteroids landed on the field all around them. It had dozens and dozens of characters, FX, a "subjective" plate that allowed for some freedom for choosing the right distance to the ground to show everything off, and it was a really fun challenge to make it as complex and dynamic as possible. It will be one of those films that will be best seen in the theater, no doubt.
Sequences on which I worked:
Volcano attack third act
