The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (2013)
Director: Ben Stiller
Company: The Third Floor, inc.
Role: Previsualization Artist (uncredited)
Time on project: April 2011
Supervisor: Patrick Smith
The Secret Life of Walter Mitty was a temporary week-long stint for me, where I helped with revisions to an epic daydream sequence where Ben Stiller's character literally surfs the streets of New York, while wrestling Adam Scott's character for a Stretch Armstrong doll. At the time, it was not clear if the license would be secured for the toy, so the entire sequence itself could have been up for being cut from the movie. Thankfully it made it in, and it became the most dramatic and memorable action sequence in an otherwise quiet and thoughtful film.
