Las Vegas Sphere: Samsung x Marvel's "What If...?" (2024)

Just before Winter Break in 2023, right after the writer's strike ended, our department worked on this special format advertisement for the Sphere venue in Las Vegas. We spent about a week on it trying out different story ideas and options with the Dr. Strange character as he explored Vegas using the search function and his portals. My portion was getting the layout and timing correct for parts of the intro, including the classic Las Vegas sign moment when he reveals it through a portal.
I loved season two of the "What If..." series in December, and it was a joy to return to the Marvel universe for animation again. For those who aren't familiar with what the Sphere is, be sure to watch the video below that takes a closer look at how the technology for the arena is made possible.
