Bright (2017)
Director: David Ayers
Company: Proof, Inc.
Role: Previsualization Artist, Asset Creator
Time on project: October 2016 - November 2016
Previs Supervisor: Brian Pohl
Our Bright team at Proof was only a three-man operation. I handled animation and asset creation, which allowed me to mix up my usual responsibilities on a previs project. Modeling and texturing characters, vehicles, and props was an enjoyable change of pace, and we even got to visit the production offices in downtown LA. I'll never forget my first trip to their offices, when I was waiting for an elevator, only to see the doors eventually open and a massive 7' actor in full ork makeup and a basketball jersey step out. It was like being in their world. Bright was Netflix's first large budget feature, so the gamble was ambitious, but they deserve credit for making something so original.
Sequences on which I worked:
Cop car crash
End faceoff
